So true. A young, pre-school friend of the family heard my mother say that “we don’t have enough money for (something).” He said, “Why don’t you just go through the bank drive-thru and get some more?” Simple solution, right?!
I remember the conversation with my child when I said I couldn’t afford something she wanted and she said we should go to the bank and get some. She was only maybe 3 or 4. she got the concept, although she didn’t’ like it.
I often begged my father for a pool. We had the room, and, while we weren’t wealthy, we did have the money for that. As an adult, I now understand why we never had a pool. Those things take quite a lot of maintenance, and my hard-working father wouldn’t have had the time to take care of it. I now understand, but I still wish we had had one.

I don’t think I was ever that naive about money.

Why use the ATM for a little money, when you can use the same “plastic” to get actual STUFF at stores, etc?

Sounds like an actual conversation with my then 3 YO girl. Out of money? All you have to do is go to that machine!

My grandkids both think that their Grammy and Papa are low watt bulbs.

These kids are high maintenance enough, they don’t need a pool for that.
