I’ve been trying electrically heated gloves this winter. They help a bit, if it doesn’t get much below 20° F. Once it gets down into single digits, my digits still get frozen.
The rest of me doesn’t mind the cold as much; I’d rather have my face freeze a little bit than cover it with a scarf.
Cold is relative. I’ve been living in Florida after moving from Pennsylvania for nearly 30 years and as my pastor says temperatures below 65 degrees F is tribulation.
A more pertinent question is, “Should I use sunblock?”. The cooler temperatures in non-summer months can lull us into neglecting the threat of excessive exposure to direct sunlight.
Having lived in the Deep South for 20+ years, I can tell you the order of dressing for cold. First, shorts and sweatshirt with sandals; then long jeans and a sweat shirt, still with sandals; then a sweater, jeans and some light wrap and sandals; then jeans, sweater, heavier jacket and – sandals. If it got really cold (or you wanted to look stylish) then dressy boots. But socks and sandals? Only on snowbirds!

I just read that the oldest pair of socks ever found were on a mummy. And they were made to be worn with sandals!

Yes, Florida has highs in the 70s in winter. In the summer, it’s so hot and humid that anyone with sense leaves the state.

You know the old saying – you can always put more on; you can only take so much off. (Of course, I’m a Minnesotan…)

Many years ago vacationing at Turks & Caicos, a local said he hated Winter because the waters were cloudy.
