My current poochy, given the chance, will stop every 10 feet or so for a long deep sniff ritual. she gets so involved sometimes that I drag her off. I only let her stop every couple of times and when it gets too much we quit stopping.I tell her it’s Walkies not Sniffies

That’s how most dogs enjoy their walks. Give them time to sniff.

Sometimes you let them sniff. Sometimes you don’t. If you let them sniff at everything they want to you might never finish the walk.

I know that feeling. I have a small 7 pound Chihuahua who will put on the breaks real hard when she needs an extra sniff

Obviously this dog never took a speed sniffing course.

Every dog should be allowed to sniff its sniffs.

Said every dog every when. Try two or more when one finds a smell. Trying to drag two dogs off of a smell is tough!

Walks are for exercise, a sniffari is to engage their brain, kind of like word or number puzzles are for people’s brains.
