In upper Illinois, we currently have under 80 degree temps, with perfectly sunny skies. But we had a big heat wave before this halcyon respite. And we are headed back to the over 85 degrees, high humidity, high dew points. It’s Illinois. It’s July. It’s hot, humid, sticky, and thank-God-for-air-conditioning-check-the-senior-citizens and rain only makes it worse.
Be thankful, Heart. There have been places in Canada that did not have much of a Summer in some years. I remember going to my parents’ 60th Wedding Anniversary and the floods they were having in Manitoba in 2014 near the end of June and beginning of July! There was a foot of water in my parents’ basement that we pumped out and I remember we never ever had water in the basement growing up there. We had neighbors, the community hall, and church having to have their basements pumped out. There are areas that got flooded out so bad that the trees and bushes died from all that flooding. You can still see the areas affected even to this day.
Philly is like Long Island a lot of rain there too, plus Rochester, NY and then you also have 8 months of freaking winter….hence our move to California….where it is lovely year round. However, after 20 plus years now we are wimps and think 40 degrees is cold now LOL

Into each summer, a little rain must fall, Heart. You don’t want droughts.

Sunny in Philadelphia? I prefer John Adams’s view: “It’s hot as hell in Philadelphia!”

Stay in, make popcorn and read some movie magazines. Or watch some acting tutorials on YouTube. Every day is a gift, Heart!
