I’m sure Ettore Boiardi would have a brawl with Mrs. Angelini.

DNTME; you haven’t had true Italian food, if you say you don’t like spicy food. The cuisine of Italy is not necessarily spicy, hot, or peppery, it just becomes so in the hands of “modern chefs”. Americanizing any ethnic cuisine tends to ruin it’s true taste and cause people to say they don’t care for it…There are exceptions, but, they are rare.

I like Italian food, and make some fairly authentic and some “Italian-American” dishes. I also have a can of SpaghettiOs in the pantry.

I don’t like them because they are loaded with sugar. Take that out and they may be palatable.

My friend Keith, a full-blooded Italian-American, used to watch the old Olive Garden commercial that started with the narrator talking about how his uncle was visiting from the Old Country, “… so I took him to Olive Garden!” At which point Keith would intone, “And then he beat me to within an inch of my life.”
