I live in South Jersey. Last winter we had zero measurable snowfall. This year we get hit with a nor’easter before winter even starts. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

The last time it “officially” snowed in Tampa was December 23/24, 1989 when we had flurries, the closest thing that Tampa has ever had to a white Christmas though Jacksonville and Tallahassee both had 3 inches on the ground come Christmas morning from that storm and the coastal Carolinas got socked with over a foot of the white stuff. The last time we had snow stick on the ground in Tampa was January 1977 when the area got an inch or so, I doubt if I will see anything like that again in my life time. My daughter did have a “snow day” in early January 2018 at FSU, the campus only got about an inch of snow but the sleet that fell before that iced everything up so the city of Tallahassee closed several roads and bridges so the school gave everyone a day off.

When we want snow in The OC, we just drive to Big Bear.

At first that “snow castle” looked like the horded rolls of toilet paper.
