My mother used to go for a PB & J for supper, sometimes. She’d almost always opt for strawberry preserves and creamy peanut butter.

PB&J is more of a breakfast item for me. Only one kind of PB, one kind of jelly/jam open at a time. It doesn’t work with sourdough bread and there’s only one alternative. So, it comes down to toasted or not?

That would be when you bought all those options. Hope you have a big family, would hate for them to spoil.

Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich: Anything other than creamy peanut butter and grape jelly is some weird B.S. string theory that can’t happen in reality.

I prefer raspberry jam. I buy what is cheapest (but not jelly) in jam or preserves, they spread better.

Simple. Toasted whole wheat bread, buttered. Chunky salted peanut butter on one side, homemade strawberry jam swirled into the butter on the other side. Heaven!
