I remember in college, I started out with a brand new set of colored felt tip pens. My roommate borrow them repeatedly and ended up using them up. I had never use them at all. He said hey your pens are used up you need to get new ones. That was one of my first initiations into what the blank is it with some people. I guess I was highly sheltered and naive.
