Dr. Doom, Dr. Octopus, Dr. Sivana… Why did they turn to crime? To pay off their student loans!
To quote (Dr.) Sheldon Cooper, “I never noticed how many super-villains have advanced degrees. You’d think post-graduate programs would try to screen those people out…”

that’s the “Gospel of St. Thomas”, chik. Regarded as a fraud by any but the most liberal “scholars” . Jesus taught we were to use the power and money given us wisely and remember where it came from. Might want to read the REAL book some time.

freeholder1: While the “Gospel of Thomas” contains some dubious stuff, it also overlaps the sayings of Jesus from the canonical Gospels. The quote “Let him who has power renounce it” does seem pretty similar to Mark 10:42-44:
Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.”

Ghostkeeper must certainly be able to tell the difference between a city losing a sports team and losing a city. It’s another example of the mistake of equating economic power (do this or I won’t give you this money) with criminal violence (do this or I’ll shoot you) or goverment power (do this or I’ll put you in jail) .
Economic power in a free country is fundamentally voluntary, while power based on force is not. Those who conflate the two do it to disparage economic freedom. Maybe that’s not Ghostkeeper’s intention, but that’s the effect.
