Jeff, this is way off. If you’re blaming Biden for supporting Israel, the you have to blame the entire Congress. Meanwhile, he has exerted considerable pressure on Netanyahu to get humanitarian aid (such as it is) into Gaza.
I frankly do not like sending money to the Israeli government which has plenty of its own. They rarely listen to their benefactors — or the rest of the world for that matter — and do whatever they want while happily taking the money. But the political reality in the US is that Israel must be supported, and if you don’t, you won’t be able to get anything done. The radical right wingers have seen to that.
So, if US aid stopped right now, how does it play out? Israel stops the war? Hamas stops firing rockets at Israel? Do the hostages get freed immediately?
Partially true. Biden is being dragged into this tragedy. It’s not his war, but long-standing US policies and commitments, political interests and influences, and global considerations necessitate deep American involvement.
I interpreted it as a war that’s pulling him into the conflict, and he must influence the outcome because it’ll influence the election. Should Israel destoy Hamas, then it’s the best outcome for a real settlement between Israel and Palestine.
If Hamas/Palestine wouldn`t have shot at Israel, Israel wouldn`t have shot back. It isn`t rocket science. Palestine has been attacking Israel for 75 years and Israel is tired of it. Surrender of Hamas/Palestine is the only solution.
If you wish to apply “first causes” to the Israeli/ Palestinian conflict, then I suspect you’d have to go back to the squabbles between two goatherds in a god-forsaken part of the world over who had a better right to the pitiful clumps of grass growing among the sands and stones of their grazing area.
Remember, both peoples originated side-by-side over millennia, as did their respective religions, which can be boiled down into the doctrines of, “I’m right and you’re wrong…”
Incidentally, If you’re planning on winning ANY war by following civilized “rules” you are deluding yourself – big-time…
The ONLY WAY to win ANY war is by pounding down your opponent while not breaking so many norms that world appropriation is not called down upon you – but first – win the war! Wars ARE NOT WON in the court of public opinion.

Biden is the most powerful president ever, at least that what Republicans think.

Well, that is woefully uninformed or just plain dishonest.

I mostly support Israel in this fight but let’s not kid ourselves, many of the rationalizations sound a lot like Putin’s hit parade.

I think 3 things have to happen, the sooner the better.
Israel stops the air attacks; Hamas and Hezbollah stop the rocket attacks.
Hamas immediately releases all hostages/prisoners.
The Rafah gate is opened to allow aid to go in, and all foreign nationals to leave.
Then maybe people can sit down together to discuss the future of the region. I think that would have to involve the end of Hamas in Gaza.

According to the GOP and its followers, if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around, it’s Biden’s fault.
