Dear Vic Van Struck, tap tap tap I would love to bestow upon my baby Grand daughter one of your signed original comic strips. tap tap tap Olivet is an infant but someday she will be able to appreciate this priceless gift from the iconic and supremely gifted creator of "Klondike Ike" I don't even get his dumb strip today. You made me lose my train of thought!

Did Robb forget that Olivet is not Frank’s grandchild?
anniet53 about 11 years ago
No he is not the grandfather.

Wow, there’s 4th wall here, irony and a bunch of other stuff!….

And today, he’s putting even more butter on it than the one from yesterday, with a “pinch of cinnamon”, in playing the “for the children card”…. How could you deny a sweet face like that, Mr. Van Streck? Lol!…

Both families are connected she may not be his but the child will call him grandpa.

She’s not even his granddaughter…

He considers her part of an extended family. Lots of folks do that.

I’d try Dobie Gillis rather than Dodie Gillis, though.

Now Why would a Grown man want a signed comic strip, albeit from his favorite comic artist\storyteller??? (Take this with a grain of salt, guys, I’m teasing)… ;)
JayBluE about 11 years ago
Yes, this is true…. as well as Gary Shandling’s show on Fox a while back…. the point is there are more ways than just the “obvious”, conventional one…. meant to engage the viewer more….=And Wolf had already partially covered that one….

Sometimes, you are pretty cool, sometimes, you can be kinda…unnecessarily… I’ll just say not cool… no need for nasty talk, here… the point is it wasn’t necessary to be so condescending, and presumptive… if you also did some research on the places we both post, you’d know that I would be aware of the “Many Loves of Dobie Gillis”, and I’ll do you one better!… Maynard G. Krebs, “Gilligan”… add to that, 55 Sunset Strip, Room 222, and I could list many others… and as we probably both know, I’m a bit younger than you, but I am in my middle age period, and was brought up to appreciate all that came before me… only say this to say that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover …

Since Joe is Olivete’s godfather his dad may consider himself to be her unofficial grandfather.
StoicLion1973 about 11 years ago
Yea, yea, yea…“Love makes a family” but there is recognized definition for grandfather. The closest Frank would get is grand-godfather (which isn’t a real relation), as the father of Olivet’s godfather.

Ummm…Olivet is not his granddaughter. That would be Sunny and/or Tommi.
