Wow! What a huge family! if they each chipped in a few bucks they could buy him a working used car…..just in case he decides to give it away, too…..At least they wouldn’t be out so much money……

All you really need something that gets you from point A to point B consistently. As long as it can do that and has heat and A/C (and music) it’s fine!

Wait, one of the brothers is a car salesman? Which one is that?

So yesterday’s “Crunchy is into yoga” strip was a palate cleanser to get us ready for the resumption of the car story?

Dad will do what Dad wants to do

“Dad you want the car fixed? Ok, we’ll all chip in 10 grand and have it redone.” Does that make sense from a frugal point of view!Get him a bus pass

So don’t get him a flashy car. Get him a basic workaday car.

Bicycle.

They could always – GASP – let Dad decide for himself.

Don’t get him a high end expensive car. Just a dependable work-a-day would be fine for him. With an extra here or there. That would be what I would want.

Is it too late to suggest they have Dad’s car restored?

What he needs is a new used car and a plate of BBQ.
