True story, my given name is Ekatherina. A difficult name for many North Americans. It was quickly shortened to “Kate” in school. When I started teaching in the American South the polite form of address for a grown up woman that you are close to is Miss _____ . Being the Librarian, I was called Miss Kate, in a Southern drawl, it sounds a good deal like Mistake. That is not a nickname for me. I quickly changed it to Miss Cake, that didn’t work out so well either (Well, what kind of Cake are you, heh, heh, heh.) It was changed again to Miss Katie. So if you ever hear of a 6 foot, 180 lb, blackbelt in Aikido as a children’s librarian, it’s probably me.

“Cake” is also a funny name for intercourse but the song “Cake by the Ocean” is not about confectionary.
