Comic books are for everyone. Who cares how old you are?

Your dad is obviously awesome.

It’s actually amusing this day and age that some people still expect fans to “grow out” of things like comic books and video games. The most profitable movies and TV shows made in the past decade and a half have been in some way based on a comic book, game franchise, or cartoon show; and most of what isn’t is instead based on books intended for teens and young adults.

I grew out of comics when I discovered regular books, in 1954.

My older sister made fun of me for still reading comics after I was 12. I thought it was ironic when she did it standing in front of her stuffed animal collection.

Comics are mainstream these days.

Jojo… you have a grandpa who is an absolute super fan of comics!

I don’t read contemporary comic books; they’re just not the superheroes of my generation. But I do enjoy reading the old ones (I still have many of mine). And as a fan of DC comics, I’m very fond of the hard cover archive editions they published in the 1990s, where they reprinted the earliest stories of Superman, Batman, et. al.

The average age of comic book readers is 30-35. I met my wife at a comic book shop 37 years ago, and we’ve been married for 36. :-) Still reading!

Hope there weren’t any first editions. Eeek!
