A lot of the high ranking cops you see in the background of TV shows are actually retired police. They get to put on their old uniforms and get paid to show up and have lunch.

When someone says they’re retiring, they mean it.

Robb, I know you’ve been at this for several decades, do you still have a few more before retirement?

I predict that if Crunchy retires, Joe will become Peterson’s training officer/ partner.

He would be bored and drive his wife / Captain crazy.
