Umm… Having a woman nominated for female lead doesn’t mean the film gets a nomination for cinematography. A nomination for best score doesn’t mean the film gets nominated for male lead. A nomination for best director doesn’t mean the film is automatically nominated for best supporting male and female roles.
And frequently the nominations/awards simply don’t make a lot of sense. (John Wayne getting best actor for True Grit. He wasn’t best actor that year. It was more of a lifetime achievement award for turning out a lot of entertaining movies and never getting an Oscar. He did a good job in Grit, but there were much better acting jobs that year.)

They needed more 12-year-olds voting for them instead of a bunch of old guys.

Hmm, it’s not as if there were no nominations for best actress and best director, there were just a lot of other good contenders in those categories.

Ken has never been a model icon for boys. It makes him harder to play.

It says a lot more about the lack of quality in roles and performances from the men, that “Ken” got nominated.
