Violence is FINE, if you also have great sound effects.

I prefer my comics with a hint of gratuitous sex that depend on me to supply a well-used set of tawdry special effects, but… what-the-heck! I’ll give it the old college try!

Some one once told me that the only major comic character who died and never came back to life eventually was Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben.

Off screen, the Legion of Dominated Villains cackles delightedly for a moment, then (staring at each other in a puzzled fashion) disbands and returns to their more mundane lives, now that their respective foils/goads have disappeared.

And so in death the heroes accomplished what in life they never could.

    Tune in tomorrow.

    Same bat-time.

    Same bat-channel.

“Death Be Not Proud” is one of my favorite books! However, I remember the radio sounds of yesteryear…..hits, boings, bangs, splats, etc…..

Actually I would prefer gratuitous sex on an epic scale. But I do like the left panel with the various last words of the heroes done in what I assume are the colors of their costumes.

I’ll be watching for how Proty of the Pets gets neutered. Where would you start? And Comet, Superhorse, I would hope he would not be in his centaur form when the neutering is done.

In the best comic book tradition, tho, they’ll all be miraculously brought back in a contrived way to sell more comics and movies.

Not to be too supercilious, but maybe a certain Portly Syndicate Person should study John’s strip for a few weeks to learn a few things about comics and humor.

Nope, won’t work, John. I’m still wrestling with my unsated cravings for gratuitous sex.

It’s just like the Poseidon Adventure – but without the boat! (or the actors) But, there’s always got to be a morning after.

DC had a Legion of Substitute Heroes made up of teens with skills that couldn’t meet the Legion’s needs or standards. Stone Boy became immobile when he used his power. Polar Boy and Fire Lad had insufficient mastery of their powers. Night Girl was nearly as strong as Superboy — but only when she was in someplace dark or in deep shade. Chlorophyll Kid controlled plants. They eventually gained the respect they sought.
