His table saw techniques are a tad scary, but sounds like he had a lucky daughter, and the other way around.

I bought a copy of Carol’s graphic diet book, The Big Skinny. It has changed the way I eat and it is effective. Her secret? Eat healthy and eat less. I highly recommend it plus it has stories like this one in it.

If Dad has some old friends still around, invite them over to share the pie and reminisce!

I guess I should bake a lemon meringue pie. Daddy’s birthday is 2 days before Christmas.

Anything you do to honor his memory is a fine thing.

Seeing him work reminds me of my grandfather. He was a carpenter, one of the best. I loved watching him from the door outside his workshop.

I miss the smell of pipe tobacco. That’s my English grandfather Cecil.

I made my grand niece a pie plate at Color Me Mine. I included the 3.14159……. to 20 places.

Nice strip Carol, it defitely brings a tear to one’s eyes! It looks like your Dad was a wonderful member of what Tom Brokaw coined “The Greatest Generation”! Sadly most members of that generation have now left us but fortunately many of us have wonderful memories of our parents, aunts and uncles to cherish, remember and pass on to future generations!

My dad has also been gone 20 years, and like Ms. Lay, I miss him, his humor, gentle wisdom and most of all his love.

I’ll read this one more time before it goes away. RIP, Carol’s Dad.
