That sweater even has too many sleeves to fit an octopus! I was taught to knit both sleeves at the same time to keep the tension the same. I wonder how she did her sleeves?

No actual knitter would make extra sleeves. The usual sequence ( for ones who love knitting but hate sewing pieces together like me) is knit body in round, be pleased with self for finishing body, open steeks for neck and armholes, double needle bind off shoulders, knit up neck band ( and front bands if cardigan), pick up stitches around one armhole and knit sleeve down to cuff, be happy that one sleeve is finished, sigh and remember there is one sleeve still to go, start second sleeve thinking about how sick to death you are of this pattern. Finish second sleeve, wash and block. Do happy dance that sweater is finished, fits, looks great. Then with great enthusiasm pick a new pattern and start another one.

There is a place for this sweater on today’s Long Story Short.

Is she suggesting that he’s an “octopus” (or worse) when they’re close?

More than makes up for the sleeveless sweater she gave him last year.

So? You merely switch sleeves to pee.

I crocheted myself a sweater vest back when I was single. I wore it maybe three times and threw it out. Now my wife crochets all day long, but nothing for me.

Harry might have gotten the sweater that Lola had knitted for the octopus at the local aquarium by accident…..

Jeremy (from “Zits”) could’ve used it the other day.

Looks like something Morticia would knit. Actually, I think she did.

That sweater would be great for Halloween or for dressing up for a SF/F convention. Just sew some stuffed gloves onto the ends of the sleeves not in use.

I did something similar for an art class, a skirt made from the legs of several pairs of pants with shoes attached. I still wear it sometimes for Halloween if it looks like they’ll be kids coming around.
