They asked Stan Lee what he thought of web comics. He said that a comic book is like a breast, it’s nice to see on the internet but it feels better in your hand.

If that’s me at seven, sixty years later I’m still looking at the screen.

When you think about it, there’s not much difference between being glued to the television screen reading comics, and doing what we’re doing right now.

Back in the Stone Age, when I was a kid, there WAS a show where they read the Sunday funnies.

That not really such a stretch, Dan. To hear some “futurists” from the 1940s and ‘50s talk, this was sort of how they foresaw information transmission in our age. And as Linguist says above, it’s pretty much spot-on, especially if one’s using wireless signal transmission, such as on a cell phone. In fact, take it one step farther and if you’re someone like me who subscribes to his local paper in an electronic format that’s a digital facsimile of the printed broadsheet paper which can be viewed via a reader app on a smartphone, and you turn to the comics page (mine prints two pages worth), then it’s EXACTLY what your bespectacled dude there is doing!
