Sadly most likely. As long as there are antivaxxers around the world, this will continue for quite some time. Not going to panic about the latest variant. Too soon to know exactly how bad it will or will not be.

We only have the antivaxxers (around the world, not just the states) and slow roll outs in 3rd world countries to blame.

I got my booster shot a couple of weeks ago and will keep getting them as recommended. Here’s hoping there never is a truly vaccine resistant variant. I’m guessing whatever happens, the people that are vaccinated will more than not fair better than those that refused to get vaccinated.

My wife’s three sisters all got Covid two months ago. Two were vaccinated and are having difficulties still after this long but they have some health issues to begin with. The third sister, who is an avowed antivaxer was found unresponsive with a pulse rate of 120 bpm and very low blood oxygen and could have easily died had she not been checked on by a concerned sister. She spent a week in the hospital and recovered. She still won’t get a vaccine. I don’t think she even thanked the people who saved her life, and instead complained about the “weird stuff they put in my body”. All three live in a trump area of Ohio and didn’t mask at all when going out. Almost none of the people who live up there do. If you want to go for months without tasting or smelling that’s up to you. Me, I would rather not get sick, ever and I will do everything it takes to keep living my life without that if not for me, for my grand children who I love to visit. Priorities, people.

We can play whack-a-mole and hope things just get better on their own. (How’s that working out?) Or we can get serious, mask up and vaccinate the world.

Across your northern border (that is Michigan for the map challenged) we have the same issues. The Governor has had Executive privileges removed or reduced and after giving a Trumplican State House/Senate what they wanted in less “mandates”, they have started complaining the Governor isn’t doing enough once Michigan ended up on the top of heap (Rankings) with Covid patients and deaths. There is no United States anymore…..
