I see a red doorAnd I want it painted black. No colors anymore I want them to turn black. ———————————It’s not easy facing upWhen your whole world is black. —Keith Richards, Mick Jagger

I found her painting to be a stark comment on the current political landscape and a bleak expression of her feelings of hopelessness for future generations that will have to deal the consequences of our choices and self-destructive tendencies…Oh, never mind…I googled Helen Keller…I get it now!

In art, it isn’t always what YOU see, but what is in the soul of the artist. In Helen Keller’s case, it was a void that she was able to cross…..

I understand Helen Keller was a very accomplished woman. She may not have been a painter (although I’m sure she could have been) but she was an author and speaker.

The artist’s main rule, paint what you see.
