I have bad vision in one eye (cataract+macular pucker). I can see out of it, but not quite clearly enough to pass the DMV vision test with that eye, even with glasses. My other eye is almost 20-20. So I can pass with one eye with no glasses and can’t pass with the other, even with glasses. So what does the DMV do? Naturally, it requires me to wear corrective lenses. If I was totally blind in my bad eye, I wouldn’t have to.
When I was in the fifth grade I had a problem with double vision. They decided to try to fix it by training my eyes. I had to wear an eyepatch on my left eye one day, and on my right eye the next. The school called my mother demanding to know which eye I was supposed to wear it on. My gym teacher started calling me the man from Schweppes. I wonder how many of you will get that reference.

Two of the world’s greatest glass artists, Tom Patty and Dale Chihuly are both blind in one eye. Dale wears an eye patch. Tom has a glass eye.

“Oh, Just one more thing.” As a fan of “Columbo,” I’m somewhat offended.

I have lost most of my vision in one eye over time. Losing depth perception has been one big pain in the butt.
