The white-tailed jackrabbits turn literally snow white in winter here. You could miss them altogether if it weren’t for the black ear tips and brown eyes.
If it wasn’t for their hair, polar bears would be black. Polar bears have black skin. And their fur appears to be white or whitish in a similar way to why snowflakes and clouds appear to be white. It has to do with how light reflects off of their surfaces.
