I have an unrelated question. Does anyone remember what bread was wrapped in before we had plastics? Was it paper? Waxed paper? I was thinking I want to cut down plastics in my life, yet again, and realized I am wearing polartec every day due to the cold we currently have. Then I started thinking about food. Anyone remember or have a clue? I remember growing up wearing cotton, linen, and wool. Straws were paper, not plastic, etc. But how was bread sold and stored?
