Gunther has a better chance makin’ out with a bowling ball than a girl!!!

Didn’t realize Luann was a leftie! And it seems that it got much easier for her to handle Quill’s big red ball.

Ah, the classics! Anyway, I have to admit that I thought this arc was pretty lame, but this is sort of cute, although, very understanding on Quill’s part.

Tomorrow Greg jumps to a new arc and everybody goes ???

I hadn’t noticed before that Lu is a leftie.But looking back through the strips I see that she always has been (at least in the sample I took (e.g.January 11, 1992).

While Luann makes her Aussie look bad, I find the spark of growing interaction between Gunther and Rosa [ hint: focus just on that in panels 1 and 3] both interesting and encouraging….

Loving this arc, and hopefully Quill can give Gunt the boost he needs with Rosa..The other reason Quill can give for the gutter ball is, Hey! let’s see how you’d bowl ast xx AM in the morning!

I’ve been going through the earliest Luann strips, and Greg drew her as a lefty then. I don’t know if he has tried to be consistent with that over the years, though.

It looks like Quill is no threat to dethrone Jason Belmonte as Australia’s best bowler!

It seems that a more fun solution might have been (if Australia has them, they might not) if Quill had been at a bowling alley there, and would take his turn for real and they would all really be able to play and communicate. But again, bowling alleys may not be seen much if at all in Australia, so this is a good second approach. I must say, this is one of the nicest and most interesting story arcs in the last few. I think it is creative and fun.

Anybody else wonder what Luann’s phone bill will be? The call is to AUSTRALIA.

Oh..My..Gawd..To keep pushing this Dial-A-Date story line has got to be some type of insanity. Yep, my insanity, for reading it.

As gunther seems to have all the bowling gear, I recons he is going to do well, impress Rosa and have something to talk about.Maybe, but don’t hold your breath, he will coach Rosa and have to touch her (shock horror).

Let’s see— the goal is to make Gunther less awkward. Everyone is going to get gutter balls, until he finally bowls and KNOCKS down a pin!!*Then Rosa can hug her hero.*(I haven’t been bowling in years— do alleys really have red balls? Oh, the puns they must endure!)

Mojitobaby could always dish it out and always got the last word in here in Lu-Lu comic posting land..She would even look up a person’s comments from years past simply to prove a point she was trying to make. Now that, my friends, is “insanity” defined. Yeesh.

No, nose is too round..Speaking of noses, when is Luann and family going to lose that sideways C that Mr Evans draws for their noses? It looks like a pig’s snout. The nose is the only feature that prevents Luann being in the elite stratosphere. (Toni, Ann, Crystal)^^Personally, Lev , I think Luann is the prettiest already, but, as far as the nose goes, when Greg decided to reboot the Degroots in the late 90s, he HAD to keep the noses so we would recognise them ;)

Have to disagree. He changed her from super fathead to normal size. We still knew who she was. Changing the nose from pig snout to human would put her over the top and everyone would still know who she is.^^The funny thing is, from the side view, her nose looks like everyone elses
