Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for February 03, 2013
Transcript:
Luann: "...I know! I can't believe the New Year's almost a month old and I haven't accomplished ANYthing! I made a list, and I have 73 projects, plans and things I gotta do!" Luann: "But with school, homework, the library job and chores, where am I supposed to find even a MINUTE to get anything done?" Dad: "By not talking and texting and tweeting and facebooking and skypeing 3 hours a day?" Luann: "Not really asking you, dad" Dad: "Too bad. Dads have all the right answers, y'know" Mom: "Do these pants make me look fat?"
Luann’s a brat. Frank told her exactly how she can find the time to do those things she thinks she needs to do. But this is just more of the same behavior from years gone by—she has always spent more time socializing (on the phone especially) than doing her schoolwork or projects or working on her new year’s resolutions or anything else. She’s almost never helped around the house, either. I would never have let a kid (let alone two kids) grow up in my house and never lift a finger to help. That was Frank and Nancy’s fault, though, for not training them to be contributing members of the family. I’m absolutely amazed that Brad’s done so well, considering what a blob he was in the past. Well…maybe there’s hope for Luann yet.
