Indefinite Internment Woman: Got your coffee. Man: Say, how long have you been working here? Woman: Two years this May. Man: You keep up the good work and we'll talk about movin' you up to SENIOR intern. Man: Hell, one of these days maybe we even pay you money. WHO KNOWS!

Let’s see, you are paid zero dollars? How about we give you a raise and triple your pay?

When one factors in the reasons why women make less money than men, the gap is narrowed considerably. Even liberal Eleanor Clift said as such.

“Hey, where can I get one of those interns?”Maybe I can spare a few from the Vulpine Retreat.

“What sort of valid “reason why” could there be for women doing similar jobs and getting less pay?”Steve’s point was that when you factor in things like taking time off to bear & raise kids, the gap between men & women doing the same work pretty much disappears. No less an expert than Paul Krugman has repeatedly pointed out that when people are out of the work force for a while, they never catch up.Maybe, if more liberal men took on the job of raising the family, we could close the gap completely.

Goldin readily admits that women without children have earnings that are, and I quote “almost equal to those of comparable men.”Read for yourselves:http://scholar.harvard.edu/files/goldin/files/goldin_aeapress_2014_1.pdfBTW, as far as the comic goes… unmarried, urban, childless women under 30, make more than their male peers.

That “intern” looks a little “dusky” to me. I wonder if that has anything to do with her low status? Nah, Matt wouln’t want us to infer anything from that, would he?
