Lips and a**holes! I don’t like bologna, or hotdogs, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the ingredients. I just don’t like the taste. I never have. (Does anybody else sing the commercial when they spell “b-o-l-o-g-n-a”?)

The official definition of meat is skeletal muscle tissue. When I was a chemist working in a regulatory lab years ago, one of the samples we received was a product called “Ring Sausage”. I looked at the ingredients list. Other than the usual list of binders, spices, water and so on, were pig’s ears, intestines, internal organ tissue, and stomachs. There was NO skeletal muscle tissue in the product, hence no meat. After working in that job for a short time, I swore off any sort of “cold-cuts”. I do, however, indulge in a hot dog about once a year — just to keep my hat in the (not the sausage!) ring.

    But but, it’s so gooooood!

Growing up my grandpa and his buddies would roast a lamb! They would eat the whole thing, including the brains, eyeballs, and what ever …!

Living during the depression forced people to stretch their food in order to feed their families.

On my fathers side, my grandmother, had 5 kids and she made potatoes for breakfast, potatoes for lunch and potatoes for dinner. Since my grandfather was murdered by the mafia, she did survive.
