Isn’t that the truth. I’ve been breaking in a new pillow. I’ll be happy when all the kinks in my neck are gone!

New mattresses and new pillows should be comfortable right away. If not, you bought the wrong ones.

The mattresses and pillows are ok. It’s just the body that takes a life time to break in.

If you are tired enough you could sleep on a picket fence. Having good muscle tone makes it easier to sleep in almost any position on almost anything.

Had an older client once who said that she was so old that she "injured herself in her sleep ". I now know what she meant.

I wish there was an easy way to find a good mattress. I HATE mattress shopping. I don’t even know for sure what I need – soft? hard? medium? something I don’t know about? I am heavy, so that impacts what works as well (tho’t about 1/3 less than I used to be). They are expensive and we usually need to replace them more often than we can afford, so we wind up sleeping on them way past their prime.

Nothing fancy. A plank bed with a goatskin cover should do.
