Heck, I can remember when there was nothing to watch on just three channels.

But what would we do without the acres of commercials showing us which meds to take for whatever condition, most of which include the chance of hitting the death lotto, how to sign up for free medicare or similar, great odds on winning nothing at the online casinos, how to shave intimate body areas without razor burn, or the many possible class action suits you can join in that have already been milked of any money you might get.

Wonder how long it will be before they pass a law prohibiting recording tv programs so you will have to watch the whole show? One or two tv channels have already put that in place.

Now everything is “Streaming Plus” so instead of spending $200 on cable, you can now have 20 different subscriptions for only $19.99 a month (plus taxes and fees).

When I was growing up, we had 4 channels. After some years we finally added PBS so we had 5. There mostly was something to watch, but my brother and I were limited as to when we could do so. We had to have our homework and household chores done before we were allowed to watch TV, and then there were the times when our father got to watch what he wanted, even if it conflicted with our choices. Now, it would not matter since there is the option of recording programs that we might “miss”.

Several years ago the local ABC, CBS, and NBC affiliates switched around. It was frustrating trying to find favorite broadcast shows. I gave up on most of them.

I had trouble with missing broadcast channels last week after resetting my TV. I finally figured out that Channel 3 really isn’t channel 3 when my set is scanning for stations. I don’t know what it really is, but it isn’t channel 3.

All I want to know is …… since there are 150 sports channels, WHY do they put games on ABC, CBS, and NBC????

Tried to talk Dad into getting a satellite dish. He declined, said he checked what was on each of the two channels he got on his antenna, and if there wasn’t anything he wanted to watch, he read a book.

We.. on this side of the fence get them transferred again to a Canadian station so they can slip in their own commercials. Those zillion dollar spots for the Oscars.. A&W gets that time for peanuts to convince us that grass fed beef tastes better.

I can remember that. I kinda wish we’d go back to the 3 channels.
