Reminds me of my parents voting. They used to cancel each other out most elections.

Staller stole mu idea! I used to claim that the living room and bedroom were in one Congressional District while the kitchen and the dinning room were in another.

This is the way I describe the irregular shape of my backyard, “It’s got more nooks and crannies and dead ends than an Alabama Congressional district.”

There is a whole font set that you can download to use in word documents and other computer programs. It is put together from the shapes of various Congressional Districts. Mine is part of the letter “C.” The font is called “Ugly Gerry.”

I’m glad Canada uses straight lines most often when districting. We use total number of residents to redraw.

Now they have 2 representing them that don’t care about their opinions.

Friends living in Santa Clara county in California have been living in the same house for more than 40 years. In 2010 they were placed in new district. In 2020 they were placed in yet another district. They still get the weekly email letter from their 2010 – 2020 congresscritter and their requests for the newsletter from their present congresscritter go un-noticed. And the field office of yet another congresscritter is closer to their home than any of the others. They live in a district with a population of more than 500,000. The state of Wyoming has a population of about 580,000 and is the least populated state. Santa Clara county has the equivalent of 4 Wyomings. If the number of congressional reps were based on the population of the various states rather than set at 435 then there should be about 660. And if 580,000 gets you 1 rep then California should have about 80 instead of the present 55 or so. Rural area are over represented at the expense of urban areas and this has been a growing problem since the 1930s

This would have been poignant had it been an interracial couple.
