In addition to not the understanding the need for either – we had a problem with my mom (in her 90s and living alone) hearing her neighbors through the wall – she lived in a free standing house with a good size space between the houses to the point where she called the police because she heard them plotting to kill her.
First thing the police asked when husband and I arrived at her house was if she had Alexi or Siri – as they can pick up from other devices and she could actually be hearing someone talking in the house through same. (She did not and ended up in the hospital – problem was too much time alone in the house.)
We would never have either in the house as they can be picked up by and pick up from baby monitors in addition to other units of themselves. No need for them, no wish to have them.
