See? See? —Hundreds; nay, thousands of little photons, living pixels, either lighting up or frying forever that TV screen! What a rush!

So there’s still hope for a night with Sigourney Weaver.

That looks more like t.v. lightning…if it was ball lightning I don’t think Monty would still be sitting down.

I color Jim’s daily comics, so I can say this: SOMEBODY SCREWED UP ON MONTY’S FOOTWARE IN THE LAST PANEL!" OK, I feel better now.

That’s pretty much the way I always figured it would go down if I saw ball lightning

I was sitting in my car about a hundred feet from a utility pole with a transformer when it was struck with lightning. I wasn’t looking directly at it but in the general direction of it. It was just like in the movies, sparks flying everywhere, spots before my eyes, incredibly loud. Scared the bejeebers out of me.

Many years ago, there was a report in the the city I live in, of a woman who saw a glowing blue ball float through her living room, doing no damage.

No matter what type of lightening it is, it usually homes in on electronic stuff. Just like the affinity of tornadoes for mobile homes. Ahh, the mysteries of the universe…

Better the TV than EB getting ‘buzzed’.

Love the white shoe/brown shoe bit..During WWI and the Korean war submarines were all diesel powered with large high amp packs of batteries for when they ran submerged,,Some submariners reported seeing ball lightning around the batteries under certain conditions..

The outstanding sf writer Cixin Liu from China, author of the Three Body Problem trilogy, also wrote a very interesting novel about a scientist who studies – and I think tries to weaponize – ball lightning.
