Sounds like a Valentine’s Day classic.

Actually, the uncut version of “Das Boot” has a very romantic scene of one of the German sailors with his French girlfriend, who wants to keep the baby, despite risk of the Resistance finding out. Later as the submarine leaves, she waves from the window of an off-limits abandoned building. At sea, the sailor tells the journalist about her and shows him her photograph.

I’ve seen that film, but don’t remember THAT scene. 8-|

I just bought the dvd off ebay, and plan to see that scene myself !

When I saw that movie I swear I could smell the stink.

just cant get away from filth in the movies, that’s why they invented video cameras, keep the filth in the home where it belongs.

The picture was taken by photographer John Topham in 1940. The original version is in black and white. The caption on the original, which is owned by the company that Topham founded (TopFoto), reads, “Home defence troops are left in drag as their Christmas charity performance was interrupted by a coastal alert near Gravesend 1940.”

I saw Das Boot in the movies not to be confused with De Lift.

“Das Boot” is very popular amongst MAGAts…not sure why.

You want an unromantic movie? Watch Requiem For A Dream. Now THAT’S unromantic.

They were Germans, not necessarily Nazis (i.e. members of the National Socialist Party). Dehumanising people isn’t helpful.

Sweaty crew. Most of those serving in the military in Germany in WWII were not Nazis. On a side note, check out the book Shadow Divers. How would you like to be part of a skin diving club, and find a wreck which you think is a U Boat only to be told that no U Boat was ever sank there? True story mystery that happened in the 1980’s.

What a drag.

Our mail carrier received a wheelbarrow for Valentine’s Day. And her husband’s choice of movies was “Hunt for Red October.”

She stamped them both Return To Sender. :)
