There was a comic strip around the early 1970s called KIWI. The titular character was a bird, but didn’t look anything remotely like a real kiwi. I suspect the creator, Ken Montone, just liked the name.

Jef’’s kiwi does look like the genuine article.

But apparently he does understand and maybe speak English.

Shoe polish is the only “Kiwi” I know of,
