The post revolution blood bath that lead not to a free nation, but a terrorist one. (Of its own people.) It was poetic justice that the men who instigated the Terror, lost their heads to it. Ushered in the age of Napoleon. And we know how that turned out don’t we? What the American Revolution didn’t end up being, France’s did. Nearly killed Thomas Paine too. One of our unsung Founders. [I do wish he had been more involved in the making of our country beyond the Declaration of Independence.]
