I thought they were hunting Boody, until I scrolled down. There was a scene in one short story (by Roger Zelazny) when a hero and his talking horse were told a castle was infested by a dragon. The horse actually called, “Here, dragon! Here, dragon! Come on, dragon!” There wasn’t a dragon.

When I was a kid, it was still “All Ye, All Ye Out’s In Free” before linguistic shifts changed it to nonsense syllables.

I’ve always wondered the origin of that phrase. It must be some “telephone line” reduction of “all-ye-something-in-free”.

A smart Grail is a safe Grail.
BTW, my theory is that the old hide-and-seek phrase is actually a corruption of “all the other Outs In free!”

It’s “All the, all the, outs in, free”.
