Caption: Our story: NANCY and her strange friend, OONA, have fallen into a weird land......
Nancy: WOW! This place is weird and scary!
Ghost: NOT scary! FRIENDLY!
Nancy: A G-G-G-GHOST!
Wow—Bunny Rabbit, Pogo, Rowlf, Mighty Mouse, Casper, Rat Fink, Woody Woodpecker, Tom, Marvin Martian—-Guy is really having a field day with this story line!!
Georges Méliès moon has been playing a guest role in Dick Tracy in recent months, and now it’s here, too. But where is “here”? I don’t remember a John Stanley story in which Nancy and Oona visit Copyrightland.
You are speaking only for yourself, kid…why are we commemorating the assassination of President Kennedy this week, which was 50 years ago, if ‘most people alive do not remember the 1970s’?
I think a lot of people around still remember the 50s, 60s, and 70s and enjoy it when a strip like this takes “a look back.” I wrote the book Summer on the P Bar J Ranch set in 1952 for baby boomers. Its available on Amazon.
I’m in my early 50’s and know a lot of these from watching old movies, Saturday morning cartoons (as a child) and reading the funny pages. I enjoyed the “Muppet Show”.
Easy now I am 69 years old and remember most of these hope I am not just about dead but who knowsLOL Most were in the comics but some were black and white TV in the Mid 50’s
1/2 our readers are younger than us boomers and they are enjoying this, according to 90 percent of the mail, as well as 100 Girl Scouts, family members of those Scouts, and other patrons at an event I did Saturday. Folks are enjoying looking up the references. I was hoping they would. To those that don’t like this story….there will be others. Thanks for reading.
Final years? I hope NOT!! I am only 64, will be 65 inJanuary! I was hoping The Shadow would be moreprominent today! Last Friday when He first appeared,I told everyone that I have a Shadow collection for sale!I need the money to buy a vehicle for my disabled Wife& myself! We are not able to use public transportation &what is available for us is not reliable! PLEASE, if anyoneknows someone who might be interested in my collection, contact me @ MIKEIMJ2YAHOO.COM PLEASE!!THANK YOU I will post as long as The Shadow is here!
Who’s holding a gun to your temple so you’ll be compelled to keep reading this arc? Nobody’s forcing any of us to be here. Besides, judging by the comments since this arc has begun, you are WAAAAY in the minority…probably similar to what being an Expos fan was like.
What a great Christmas/Chanukah present that Guy is giving us! What did we do to get this? By the way, the bunny looks like Bunny Rabbit from Captain Kangaroo.
I’m almost 60. I read the comics and remember these cartoons. Unfortunatly, the comics and cartoons of today are awwwwful. They don’t know what they’re missing. Too bad.
