@Captain Guy If Wiley isn’t telling a story with a political stance, I’ll be very very shocked indeed. That’s sort of his whole shtick.

Funny, no one ever said that describing physical realities HAS to reek of political agendas. Reality – the ice caps are breaking up. Reality – houses are being foreclosed and people are losing their jobs. Why is it “politically correct” to deny that these are happening?

Nanook Cornelius lures the shark up on the ice, Hermie (the only elf that did not have pointed ears) pulls the shark’s sore tooth and persuades the shark to put the star on the … no, the shark noses the deerberg back to the sleigh.

    HEY GUYS!

DROP the GLOBAL WARMING thing okay!

I believe in Global Warming and you are getting on MY Nerves

    GET A LIFE!

This is suppose to be only funny. WILEY said so himself several times. Quit acting like you are too dumb to get the hint.

If you annoy enough people, then no one will listen to you or anyone else when its time to be serious.

I still see Eddie rising like a Phoenix, or maybe Tucson, from the depths to save the day! Too bad we have certain “conservatives” in Congress and notably on the House “Natural Resources Committee” totally dedicated to the destruction of the environment for corporate profit, and attempts to debunk AGW for pure, out and out greed.

I’ve swum with the sharks, and the orca, barracuda, gators and crocs, our fears are rarely based on facts, and our troubles are brewed by political hacks.

Fin? Did you mean Finn? Are we sure they’re not in Marquette and that isn’t Lake Superior? They have lots of Finns up there….Not very ominous, though. They’re actually very nice kinda cool. They like to get naked and sweaty in saunas and slap each other with fur branches…Sometimes they’ll bold out of the heat and belly flop in a big snow drift….You’ve got to admire people like that…

“What about the Holocene maximum?Lasted from 7500 to 4000 years ago, polar bears did not go extinct.Or during any of the other warm periods in the last 10,000 years. The so called northwest passage was open a couple of weeks this year if you can really call it open with icebergs bigger than most houses floating around.http://nsidc.org/data/seaice_index/”

.There are — I believe — fewer polar bears now… at the start of this warming, than there were then.

Whaa? Um…what are you on about? I’m pointing out that this COMIC is not about climate change or anything political, it’s about a Christmas story that people commenting WANT to make political. So I’m a little lost as to what you’re attempting to bring up?

Unfortunately, these days EVERYTHING is political. From the moment you wake up in the morning to the next moment you wake up in the morning, politics is a (usually negative) part of your life. The main difference now is that you or I, individually, have far less influence on the course of events than, say, Grover Norquist’s Americans For Tax Reform or the Koch Brother’s Americans For Prosperity.

“Money doesn’t talk, it screams obscenities” – Bob Dylan

To which I would add: “And now it can scream them directly into your ear 24/7/365 without letup because the Supreme Court says that it’s Free Speech.”

Welcome to The New Normal. Get used to it.

Interesting. I saw your comment on the I-google version of the site with a time stamp of 2:57 PM, and was going to reply right after responding to Sacqeboutier, but as you say, now it’s gone. Guess maybe he has a point; damned if I can see a problem with language or anything else that would justify deletion of your comment. Somebody up there doesn’t like you guys, and this might just put me on the waiting list for your club. BTW- great artwork. About the only thing I could carve with a chainsaw is my leg.

I know when I make a comment worthy of deletion, and the comment I made here was not one of them. I don’t know why anyone would flag it (other than it seems that someone is following me around waiting for the chance), and again, I don’t know why I got deleted. Not to worry! .I have no idea (or way of knowing) what your comment was… so I have a hard time making a relevant comment to your deleted one…

@Dogsniffmas:I apologize if my repost of your post was an overstep, but it was right in front of me and I think others on the site deserve to know what has been removed and whether or not it was arbitrary or the comment was somehow offensive. Meanwhile, thehag and Dale Hamilton have introduced another possible angle to the storyline…

I haven’t seen any reliable evidence to suggest that they’ll do otherwise. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see whether they can finally throw off their ideological blinders and shackles and start voting for their own interests rather than those of their Party.

FINALLY got to the end of the comments. tired. that was a long walk and some of the comments should have been on a short pier. .enough of that. NEXT!.8 tiny reindeer floating away on the ice. (yes, I counted them)And that’s not Shamu, Free Willie or Nanook – I think @Varnes called him Fin. While others speculate that its a shark, not an Ocra..Being from the West Coast and having a hockey team with an Ocra on their jerseys…… That is an Ocra that Santa is seeing. Can tell by the wonderful drawing by Wiley on the shape of the fin. (yes, that was a hug for artwork – to point out there is a difference in fin shapes between shark and ocra and that is an ocra shaped fin).,,,,, and there is only one Fin I know of …. He has a mohawk and is the hockey team’s mascot. I’m told he bites. Hard. But loves children. .I am enjoying this Christmas tale. Averse to verse? No way! Lovin’ it!! More please!
