Love that Lucy…

Danae, think of it as a project – you’re shovel-ready.

In the early ’70s, I lived for a time in a house with no indoor plumbing. Two feet of snow on the ground, if you had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, you had to bundle up, go outside to the outhouse and use that, and then bundle up again to come back to bed..Meanwhile, all winter long, the cats went in a box of sand not twenty feet from the wood-burning stove inside. And when it came time to change the sand, once again it was humans out into the snow..You tell me which is the dominant species.

You know, that bed must be a mess in the morning.

The difference between being clever and being smart.Horses don’t need to be clever.

Aliens arriving from Arcturus IIImight think humans are slaves to dogs, going outside twice a day on a leash and cleaning their droppings.

So just who domesticated whom.

My dog must think she is royalty. I feed her. She walks in front of me. Then I bag her poop and carry it around, only to finally hold the door open for her.

Danae has the makings of a good PR person….or an editor…

Which one feels the need to shovel?

There is a similar entry in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy concerning man and dolphins:“For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much – the wheel, New York, wars and so on – whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man – for precisely the same reasons.”

Horses are wiser than humans. Do not confuse intelligence with wisdom.

Poor Danae, at least you don’t have to follow behind donkeys and elephants for a while yet. Loved the dog and dolphin comments.

But ‘shovel girl’. Gee, that’s seems a little mean coming from a special pal.

Cats were worshiped as gods by the ancient egyptians, they have never forgotten this fact.

Yay! Danae is back. I was missing her alternate take on the universe.

Little horse has good hearing as well. Wonder if Lucy is related to Mr. Ed. Could be her Grand Father or Great Grandfather.

A dog thinks, “My human provides me my dwelling place, takes me for walks, feeds me, rubs my belly, cleans up after me. He must be my god!” The cat thinks, “My human provides me my dwelling place, lets me out at night, feeds me, rubs my back, cleans up after me. I must be his god!”

As Will Rogers observed, “You know, horses are smarter than people. You never heard of a horse going broke betting on people.”

So Danae does all the grooming and care for Lucy. …. She might not like homework or school but Danae just might make a good stable hand.
