You don’t have Hershey’s Kisses where you live?

He must be a real hard candy…probably salt-water taffy.

I bet they don’t have Chimos, Lacasitos, Sugus or Chupachups, either. They do have Pez dispensers in the US, though they’d never admit the Pez candies were invented in a different country.

My goodness…. Blunebottle may have only been curious about the answer to that question…. perhaps he wants to learn about your culture.

But if we agree that he was being unknowingly US-centric, in his reply, it doesn’t come close to matching the unwarranted venom in the responses.

Even if someone is totally off the wall, eg, calls someone an idiot, you can just flag him and move on.

There is no reason for flame wars on this site.

Tater, we can get most of the candy you mention in import stores, so some people know those and some don’t…. especially Baci and Cadbury Flake.

OTOH plain Cadbury chocolate bars, Fruit and Nut, Caramello and a few others, including the Easter eggs, are in regular US supermarkets.

Womble, we do have Chupachups, here in California… but not the others, as far as I know. But why would you say that we’d “never admit” Pez candies were invented in a different country. That’s plain silly!

Meanwhile, most countries seem to have some version of the wrapped candy shown as the hosts.

I don’t know if the person who made the question “You don’t have Hershey’s Kisses where you live?” was trying to be rude, maybe just a little surprised.

Hershey’s Chocolate Company is a multi-billion dollar company that started in 1894 by Milton S. Hershey and is world-known.

The first Hershey’s Kiss candy was produced in 1907 and is one of the company’s most popular products along with the Hershey Bar, Kit Kat; and the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.

Are Hershey’s Kisses better than candy kisses?

At least they didn’t start unwrapping themselves. How inappropriate would that be?

Those look nothing at all like Hershey’s kisses. Even after someone said what they were, I couldn’t see it.

I do not see any sour punches at all in what Susan or Blunebottle wrote. I see good & plenty in what you wrote.

I think current Hershey products (last time I tried any around 2007) have little actual “chocolate”. I don’t buy any that don’t have at least 70% (except 40+ for the salty ones that are my guilty pleasure).

I recognized the kisses right away and was trying to think WHAT kind the hosts were that made sense – the Tootsie rolls makes it, although various fluffy wraps like that suggest salt water taffy to me.

At first glance, I saw a throw pillow on the doorstep.

My first thought when I saw this was that the kisses wanted to go for a roll. I thought they could be fruit flavored Tootsie Rolls, not sure though.

    Thank you, Donkey…. and Coyoty…

Tater… I have neither a record of nor any intention of getting into any silly arguments with you, or anybody on this site…. ever.

I even tried to answer you about candy. Sorry, and sad (and shocked!) if you see “acidic vitriol” in that.

I only want everybody to act like friends here, as we are all drawn to a common amusement, the comics….and this is all I will say about it.

    Wow – a candy-related comic…good thing it wasn’t about politics or religion!

It’s okay, Tootsie. Different folks, different ways.
