It’s not sexist if it’s true, some women live for their ‘new’ shoes. What were the other levels I could only see the potential for sexism. Although you might also add in anti-consumerism, but I’m not sure that’s a bad thing :)
Though I’m not one to buy lots of shoes, I have to say that a new pair of shoes is a lot less expensive than a new car. (And the car I usually drive is 25 years old!)
Shoes and women….seriously, I’m sick of it! Just went to Kohl’s since my boyfriend wanted new shoes. He HAD to get a pair of $80 namebrands. I honestly don’t understand it.
Maybe they keep hoping to find that magic pair that looks good while actually IS comfortable. I have said since a teen that if I were really rich I’d have them custom made. Now I know that only making them myself will ever be practical for my money. I’ve great flats, but as I’m only 5’ I want to learn to make heels.
You can repair shoes, but not indefinetely…at some point they are just worn out. But i don’t understand women who go ballistic about buying shoes because of a certain brandname, which they can hardly walk on…being a woman myself, i only buy shoes i can walk on, even high heels, but forget de nametag, they need to be functional, even de nice ones.
