Heard once, after a boys name becomes a girls name the boys stop getting that name

Leslie and Ashley can also be boy’s or girl’s names.

And also Marty.

I married one….a girl one.

There’s also Bobby, Sam and Max.

How about Lynn and Carol? (I knew boys with those names). John Wayne’s real name was Marian. Bob Hope’s real name was Leslie. And in the book Little Women, Amy’s love interest had the name of Laurie.

In MN there are lots men/women named Kelly/Kelley/Kellie and Jerry/Gerry/Jeri.

Alice can be both too. You’ve heard of Alice Cooper, right?

Only one name she mentioned is a name. The others are nicknames. So Christopher and Christine. I guess Christian can be either. Alexander and Alexandra. There are some actual full names that are either (Kim comes to mind) but not as common. And like jr1234 said, once a male name is adopted by females, it stops being a male name.

Don’t forget Tracy. If I had been a girl I would have been Tracey Dawn instead of Tracy Don.

Sandy is another name that can go either way: Sandy Duncan/Sandy Kovacs.

I love the episode of the old Dick Van Dyke show when they explained to the kid how he got his middle name, and DVD played his own grandfather in a flashback, saying If it’s a boy, Ulysses David, and if it’s a girl, Ulyssia Davida
