When you two put it that way. Jet isn’t a good name.

I just discovered a YouTube channel called Lost in the Pond, written by an Englishman who lives in the States. One of the things about America are the names we give our children – last names instead of first names, just as Taylor, McKenzie, Tyler, and odd names such as Kale, Apple, or . . . Jet?

One should ALWAYS try to think of how a name could be made fun of. That said, no matter how much you brainstorm to prevent this, kids will ALWAYS find a way to make fun of a name. And if it isn’t the first name, it will be the surname. The only thing one can hope for is to not make it EASY for them to do so!

What if Jet has digestive issues or likes beans? The name could be too appropriate.

There are plenty of names that sound appealing for a baby, that will prove problematic in, say, Junior High School.

At least they didn’t name it Apple.

My mother went to college with a girl whose parents, the Dovey’s, gave her legal name as Lovey.

And what if SHE did some duets with Jerry Garcia? She’d be Rose from the Dead.

Kids on my school bus: Adonis, Beloved, Maximus, Camani. I went to school with two girls whose last name was Lake, Stormy and Misty…

I agree w/grandma.. my first, middle & last name aka messed up; got picked on in school and the whole 9 yards. Funny thing is I got married & changed my last name; which I thought was okay… Guess what the saga continues…Lol

I knew someone who named their kid “Cub”, not a nickname but their proper legal name.

There is a TV program “Ready, Jet, Go!” and Jet is voiced by an actor named Ashleigh.

People like that aren’t fired. They’re JETissoned.

It worked for Jet Li.

I knew a Candace (Candy) Cain when I was growing up, and a Penelope (Penny) Nichols from my college years…

My first thought was that they named an airplane.
