Not in any way taken from real life, I’m sure.

Of course, were I the manager, this person would be spoken to, at least. Not only will the artist now not buy the coffee (or anything else), he will also not potentially make a habit of coming in every day and buying stuff. In addition, he will also tell family and friends and anyone else who will listen about this incident, causing them to avoid this shop. He might even draw a cartoon about it!

Good thing they did not say that to JK Rowling when she was starting out.

Honestly, I have done the same thing. However, look at how busy the place is. Two If I go there to do homework or draw. One, I buy a large iced American (maybe a second). Also, I try to come to buy a sandwich or snack. I also expect I may have to share a table at times. However, I have seen people in the local coffee shops treat the place like their home. One with a monitor for their computer. Add in they must play their music on speaker. Seen this and left because of it. Me I say no problem as long as it is not too busy
