Some breeds are just off-the-scale good. It would be pointless for Labs to compete.

Also, mutts. Yesh, I went there ; )

We have a Husky/Lab mix and she is the smartest dog I’ve ever known. She picks up things so easily and remembers them all. She has a wonderful disposition and everybody who meets her loves her. But that intelligence of hers quite frankly astounds me.

I think the fix is in at the Westminster. Wire fox terriers, 15 wins plus smooth fox, 4 = 19. Scottish terrors, 8. Labs and Goldens, zero.

At least the sharks got something to eat.

Dog shows are a meaningless waste of time. Were they fair, a lab or shepherd would win every year.

Labs are the ONLY pure breed I would ever own. I, too, am disappointing every year. Smart, loving, playful those are only some of their good traits. During fiesta week we have a dog parade. The local shelter for labs usually brings a dozen or so dogs. They are the highlight of the walk. Louie belongs to an elite club of dogs.

German Shepherd gal here, but to be honest, I would like to see more breeds judged by their ability to do their work than on how pretty they look.

Labs in our family now. Growing up we had Scotties, cute, but testy little dogs and certainly not good with children.

What a waste of cake. Henry should have used it to celebrate them having Louie, their best boy, as part of the crew . Although Raymond might get jealous.

Never owned a lab or a golden. Had three boxers over the years. That breed was lucky enough to win best in show a few times.

And, yet, the Labrador Retriever remains the most popular dog breed in the USA as it has been for 27 years so far.

Wire Fox Terriers are among my cats’ favorite breeds. They are delicious.

Don’t want to make enemies here, but the ugliest dog I have ever seem is a Neapolitan Mastiff. Saw ones’ face up close and he scared me senseless.

Oh, the humanity! (Or in this case, dog-manity.)
