I love how the weather on Overboard changes instantly to suit the times. Yesterday it was still a full day of winter and so there was a foot of snow on the ground. Today is the spring equinox, so the snow has completely vanished and immediately there are bees buzzing around spring flowers already in bloom.
When it comes to skunks, there are two types of dogs. Those that learn the first time, and those that will never learn. Not sure where I heard that, but my experience validates the expression.
I had a dog who loved skunk butts. I also had the best recipe to get the stink out…at least out of dog fur. The first skunk I learned to just let him go and get the hell away because the remedy doesn’t work well on human hair. I chose the eau de skunk for a few days over having to grow my hair out of peroxide decolorization which would have taken much longer.

For a Labrador, Louie is pretty stupid.

Safety first, though. Good job taking care of Louie, Cap’n.
Happy Sunday, Crew.

Had a dog that ate three bees, two at least a week old dead birds, mushrooms that didn’t look edible. She lived to be 14 years old (regular years).

Saucy the dog (gone almost 15 years now) used to catch and eat bees, but never got stung. Moxie (currently 14 1/2) has never been interested in bees.

Dogs never learn. Cats don’t get stung by bees or sprayed by skunks. They are too cautious. But you got to love Louie!
Good evening, Crew!
