verne: "....and he huffed, and he puffed, and he blew the house down...." hammy: Why aren't there any stories about big good wolves? Verne: too boring. a big good wolf wouldn't provide conflict...without conflict you can't have a story. hammy: I know a story! ...the big good wolf was sad he couldn't be in a story, so I put him in this one! the end. verne: I stand corrected. hammy: you're not standing.

Thanks. And obviously I meant Hammy. I wonder how the original Sammy is doing in the parallel world.

Nope, still boring. Sorry, Hammy. But really, any critter can be the hero of a story as long as something provides the conflict.

Wolf attack is not as common in Europe because of the concerted effort to kill them off over the years. The US put them on the endangered list, which still angers people in their habitat area because they feel sheep and cattle are at risk; OTOH without wolves some of the small prey animals like rabbits start overpopulating. You can’t change just one thing. :-)
