The real joke here is that a really nice actual bike could easily cost you $2300.

RJ has a really good point about the property values. Got a neighbor down the street that does that. But with lower property values come lower property taxes, and that part I don’t mind at all; thus I’ve allowed the neighbor to live—so far.

I commute by bike and usual go by a sport complex. The row of bikes is right in front of the street window and I snigger at the look of boredom on so many faces and sometimes give a friendly wave.

Not to mention the $40 a month for the online training subscription.

Think about it — we pay to go to a gym to perform physical exertion; to do the equivalent of manual labor.

We are having bicycle safety protests here. A bicycle prompter was riding his bicycle on a 6 lane express boulevard after dark and got run over. He should not have been on a 6 lane express boulevard after dark on a bicycle.

While not a problem down here, that snow they’re walking through would be a major incentive for getting a nice indoor bike. Though a trainer you put your real bike on is a lot cheaper than a Peloton.

I heard a radio news teaser the other day for a story that purported to expose why fitness spas’ business models are counting on us failing. I never heard the segment, but can only assume it was going to tell me how they design their facilities based on actual projected use, thus saving themselves millions in construction, lease and equipment costs.

Congratulations, Peloton! You have made me hate your commercials so much that I now hate your product. The upside is, you’re helping the companies advertising on the channels I change to to get away from your commercials.

I wouldn’t mind an exercycle this time of year when the temps are rarely above 30F and it is dark when I leave for work, still dark when I get home. Cannot fathom spending thousands of dollars on one, though.
